Nice and shady in the garden and a leaking Fire 201 on the table. Wow! How time flies. It all started with me and Shinsung sometime around the turn of the century. The Fire 201 was truly a, what they later called, gamechanger. Nice and simple, lightweight, elegant looks and for that time a very strong single shot. It became a raging success.
Twenty years later you still come across them, of course. Because: Simple technology survives everything as opposed to complicated technology. The inside looked pretty battered but: Who knows what it has been through. It doesn't matter because it is an article of use. So: new and well-fitting NBR70 rings in and a good assembly with some white grease (Dow Chemicals) and it's all good again. At least: For the moment: Tomorrow after a night of pressure we'll look again. Update: Replaced the filler valve with a Fosterkit.... Only then was it all tiptop again.
That red cat (with one eye)? Who always helps me and has amazingly good understanding of technology and logic. When I almost give up he always has a golden tip!
We put Huma's regulator set in the GK1 last week. It was done in exactly 600 seconds! So 10 minutes of ‘work’. Since we are not extremely accurate shooters with the GK1, we set the regulator to maximum pressure (150-160 bar) and the power valve to 2 rotations from closed.... Read more
